The Group is looking to add a dynamic, highly motivated tax professional to the team. The individual must enjoy working in a complex, fast paced environment and working as part of a team. Reporting to the Director of Tax, this permanent, full-time position offers the unique opportunity to develop knowledge in both public and private company corporate tax, indirect tax, and tax incentives across a broad range of industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and/or review of Canadian corporate income tax, partnership, information and foreign reporting returns and forms
  • Preparation and/or review of statutory financial statements
  • Preparation of consolidated income tax provision in accordance with IFRS
  • Participate in tax planning initiatives and related filings
  • Conduct tax research
  • Prepare transfer pricing calculations
  • Prepare applications and filings for government and other incentives
  • Assist with external audit of tax provision and government audits
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls
  • Assist with special projects, ad-hoc questions, preparing sales tax returns, and other duties

What you bring:

  • Canadian CPA designation (will consider CPA student who has passed the CFE) or graduate degree in Canadian Taxation
  • 2 + years experience preparing Canadian corporate tax returns and financial statements; public practice experience an asset
  • Exposure to tax provisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and consistently meet deadlines with attention to detail while working both independently and with a team
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Excel and Word and Adobe Acrobat
