Coast Reporter (coastreporter.net) is the paper of record for B.C.’s lower Sunshine Coast, encompassing an area from Gibsons in the south to Pender Harbour in the north. Our office is centrally located in Sechelt, the largest municipality in the region and home of the shíshálh Nation, self-governing since 1986. Linked to the Lower Mainland by a 40-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast offers first-rate ocean, forest and mountain access and is a prime B.C. tourist destination.

The applicant will be expected to help maintain the paper’s digital and social media presence, to assist in production, and to work collaboratively on an ongoing basis with other staff due to the regional nature of many issues and local government initiatives.
The successful applicant must have experience in newswriting, beat coverage and photography, preferably with at least two years on a newspaper.
A driver’s licence and vehicle are essential.
We are looking for a positive, self-starting individual with a strong willingness to learn, highly developed organizational skills, and the ability to generate clean copy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with constantly evolving priorities.
The job offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
