Business in Vancouver is gradually resuming in-person sponsored events and is looking to renew that function in its operation. We are looking at three larger events of about 250-400 attendees and two or three smaller events of 100-150 to be organized and conducted in that period.
The successful candidate will have experience in event logistics planning, be detail-obsessed, have strong social media skills, and be able to work independently and accountably once directed on projects. You will work with the Publisher, the Sales team and Editorial team on defining the scope of the events and ensuring they are conducted effectively to the satisfaction of the attendees, the sponsors and the BIV organization.
Duties will include participation in contract negotiation with facilities and suppliers, facilitation of award nominations and judging, marketing of the events through BIV’s digital and print channels, coordination of sponsor participation and venue supervision on the day of the event, among other roles.
The position is for a six-month contract with an opportunity for renewal and full-time employment, dependent on the economic conditions for continued in-person events and the success of contracted events.
