Job Purpose
Ag in Motion as the largest agricultural trade show in Western Canada, provides an outdoor venue for progressive farmers that want to see and feel the latest agricultural innovations – all in one place. Ag in Motion brings innovation to the field through interactive exhibits and live field and crop plot demonstrations. The Expo was created to empower farmers by providing the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.
This Position is for a temporary equipment operator who will facilitate move-in/out for exhibitors as well as performing operations tasks during the show and set-up period. We are recruiting for multiple vacancies.
The duration of this role will be between 3-10 days including set-up days, the days of the show, and move-out days. The role will set to begin during July 10 – July 23, 2023.
Duties and responsibilities
- Open - Unload and load various equipment arriving at the expo using telehandlers or tractors
- Stage the equipment in client’s booth spaces with the guidance of clients.
- Assist show staff with expo needs i.e., unloading things for expo, moving large items to designated spots, etc.
- Perform dual machine lifts.
- Perform pre-checks on machinery prior to operating.
- Wash machinery as needed.
- Fuel machines at the end of the shift and ensure they are ready for the next day.
- Report to dispatch for lifts.
- Will report all incidents and near misses to supervisor.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Adhere to site rules.
- 8 -10 hour shifts.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in equipment operation, 3 or more years. Preference to those who have operated telehandlers and forklifts.
- Preference is those with past PME and forklift certifications
- Onsite training will be provided to all hires
- Applicants must provide their own steel-toed boots
Working Conditions
- All shifts will start with operators checking in on-site in the morning to the operations manager.
- Tasks will be assigned by either the operations manager or dispatch.
- Shifts will be between 8-10 hours.
- Any overtime incurred will be calculated in accordance with provincial law.
- Meals will be provided on days close to show time (full schedule will be provided)
