Estevan Mercury Publications is seeking a diligent, versatile reporter to work for our two award-winning weekly newspapers in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
The Estevan Mercury is one of Saskatchewan’s oldest and most respected weekly newspapers. It is a broadsheet paper published each Wednesday, and distributed to all residences in Estevan and to some rural homes. Southeast Lifestyles, which emphasizes human interest and community stories, is a tabloid paper delivered on Fridays to all homes in Estevan and to numerous rural communities in the southeast region.

The successful applicant will be responsible for posting local editorial copy and photos on our website, www.estevanmercury.ca, and Facebook, and to take responsibility for the podcasts that are uploaded to our website.
Estevan has many stories to report on throughout the year in education, healthcare, politics, law enforcement, arts and culture, agriculture, sports and other beats.
Not only will this person have interviewing and writing skills, but photography skills are a must. Also beneficial will be an interest in sports, and a willingness to use various social media platforms.
We also have a podcast that is recorded in our office on a regular basis.
