Peak Publishing has been publishing a community newspaper in Powell River since November 1995.
Currently there is a paid-subscription paper on Wednesdays, the Powell River Peak, and a total market coverage publication on Fridays, the Weekend Shopper. They serve the Powell River Regional District, a community of 20,000 people on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. The community is accessible by ferries of the BC Ferries fleet or by air via Pacific Coastal Airlines. There is no direct road connection. In addition there is an online edition Peak Online at www.prpeak.com.
