The La Ronge Northerner Newspaper
The La Ronge Northerner is the weekly newspaper for the northern half of Saskatchewan. Covering a geography of more than 30 far-flung communities — including a high percentage of young people.
About two-thirds of those papers are sold in the neighbouring communities of La Ronge, Air Ronge and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s reserves.
These three communities make up one urban area of about 7,000 people. La Ronge employs many people in public service and tourism, and the community is a jumping off point for travel and commerce in all of northern Saskatchewan.
This is the Capital of the North, the centre for government, education, sports and recreation, outfitting, exploration, air travel … even wild rice.
It is also home to The La Ronge Northerner.
Our vision: to provide northern Saskatchewan with the foremost news and communications service possible.
Special Sections: We publish several special sections each year: fire safety, mining, the Saskaloppet ski race, Christmas, weddings and more.
Six thousand copies of our annual tourism publication, Heading North, are circulated through Saskatchewan and at trade shows all over North America.
