The Battlefords News-Optimist has been serving the Battlefords for more than a century.

The News-Optimist is an award winning community newspaper dedicated to providing readers with comprehensive coverage of news, sports and events in the community and surrounding rural areas that use our community as their destination of choice to shop, and attend events of interest to them.

The motto in the News-optimist newsroom is “Everyone has a story.” It is our mission to tell those stories, which in turn create a chronicle of the Battlefords history as it unfolds each week.

The News-Optimist also provides an effective advertising vehicle for businesses throughout the region as well as for provincial and national advertisers.

Our newspaper supports and is involved in the community and prides itself in sponsoring and donating to community events in numerous ways.

Our News-Optimist is published every Wednesday and our Regional Optimist is published on Friday.

We have a printing company also that prints weekly and monthly publications for our group of papers and for other companies in the province of Saskatchwan.
